Hello. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar II. I have tried many anti-depressants (zoloft, paxil, welbutrin, effexor xr) and mood stabilizers (depakote, neurotin). Nothing works. My new psychaitrist put me back on Welbutrin (SR). I am just freaking out. I'm sick of this darn illness!! My depression is SO bad, the manic is not full-blown but it too interfers w/ my life. During my mania I get very irritable, I have racing thoughts, I can't seem to shut my mind off, I have trouble sleeping, etc... My depression is just very bad. I seem to have low-lows every two to three weeks. Does anyone know what can be done in my case? What types of medications will work? I am trying to trust this new psychiatrist, but I am fearfull that the Welbutrin SR will not work (again). However, when on Welbutrin before, it was under a Primary Care Physican's care (to help me quit smoking...that didn't work either!) so it (effectiveness/dosage) was not monitored properly.
Please help, if anyone can. Thank you.
