Tech Avice needed: diff btwn Clomapramine Zoloft

Posted by tinker on June 3, 2002, at 6:37:04

Hi can anyone enlighten me on the differences between clomipramine and zoloft. I know that zoloft is an ssri and clomipramine is a tryciclic. When I am looking at a chart about neurotranmitters, it lists both drugs as having the same effect on 5ht(hydroyxtryptamine) reuptake yet the blockade of 5HT (1) is 1,000-10,000 for clomipramine and 10,000-100,000 for zoloft. So how could both drugs be said to have the same effect on seratonin reuptake. (Confused)-Tinker pS All answers appreciated.
