I currently take 40 mg/day of Dextrostat which is the only 'name brand' dextroamphetamine available in 10 mg tablets (Dexedrine only comes in 5 mg tablets which would mean taking 8 tablets a day!)
I was thinking of trying generic dextroamphetamine 10 mg tablets (Barr Laboratories) instead of Dextrostat 10 mg tablets next time? Is there any difference in efficacy/duration?
Also, the Dextrostat pills taste terrible compared to Dexedrine or Adderall, I think because of the type of artificial color they have in them FD & C Yellow #5 (Tartrazine)-- Dex & Adderall have artificial blue or orange.
What color are generic dextroamphetamine 10 mg tablets?
Does anyone have a list of inactive ingredients in generic dextroamphetamine? Both Dexedrine & Dextrostat seem to have an excessive amount of filler in them- Dextrostat has dextroamphetamine sulfate USP 10 mg ,acacia, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, sucrose, sodium starch glycolate, & FDC Yellow #5 Tartrazine. A 10 mg Dextrostat is about as big as a 30 mg Adderall!
If the generic dextroamphetamine 10 mg they have at Walgreens=(Barr laboratories) is white & with less filler/smaller then i'll probably switch to it.
Thanks,
