Pharmacist question -generic Prozac capsule color

Posted by Marie1 on May 10, 2002, at 7:55:18

Hi everyone.
Yesterday I refilled my (generic) Prozac prescription and was surprized to see the capsule is distinctly different from my last re-fill. Same pharmacy. Since it is the generic version (fluoxetine) and I'm guessing can be manufactued by various drug companies (?), does this account for the different colored capsule? Last refill they were blue and off-white; this time they're mint green/grey. Naturally, I'm concerned that there may have been a drug mix up. So, is this just a different manufacturer, or do I have reason to be concerned? I tried to do an internet search for pictures of fluoxetine, but the only one I could find, the capsule color appeared to be yet another combination. Can anyone clear this up for me? I would appreciate any knowledgable input.

Marie
