what's wrong w/ hypomanic?

i was on 40mg paxil and 15mg buspar and began to feel hypomanic. i was getting a lot done and feeling good and my sleep or appetite was not disrupted. my doctor decreased my paxil because of this and no i'm feeling completely anxious and depressed. my question is, is being a little manic so bad? it's much better than the state i'm in... maybe i should go back to the higher dose of paxil?
