What's difference btw peaking and onset of action:

Posted by Janelle on April 5, 2002, at 17:32:29

What is the difference between the concept of a med "peaking" in your system after you've taken it, for example it takes Med X such and such an amount of time to "peak" VERSUS "onset of action"??

Can a med have onset of action, i.e., begin to act on the person, have some effect BEFORE it reaches its peak??? Or is the peaking point the same as onset of action?

Hope I'm making this one clear!
