Lamictal dullness -decrease dose? Discouraged.

Posted by Cindylou on December 31, 2001, at 12:53:37

Hi,
I've heard other reports on this board that Lamictal can lead to dull, flat feelings.

I am experiencing that now. I just increased to 125 mg, and feel the dull effect more now than before. Depression has not lifted much, but is more "under control" (or at least it was.)

I am also on a low dose of Serzone (75 mg), and just started adding 2.5 mg of Paxil -- starting slow due to side effects.

I'm feeling discouraged. Wondering if I should quit the Lamictal, Serzone and Paxil and start over? Amisulpride maybe?

Diagnosis is now bipolar II. I experience a lot of fatigue and agitation when not treated. I can't tolerate SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics, APs, stimulants, or wellbutrin due to side effects ...

Serzone and Paxil were last ditch efforts -- mainly the only ones I haven't tried besides Celexa and Remeron. Serzone seems to help with anxiety but not depression, and I can't raise the dose due to fatigue. Think I'm on too low of a dose of Paxil to notice any changes -- just started 5 days ago.

Feeling very sad today. Things are going downhill. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

cindy.
