> Diagnosis of bipolar. Medications are depakote, ambien, soma, pamelor, trazodone, zyprexa, effexor, lortab, premarin, synthroid, klonopin. Concerned about drug interactions but the site i plug into just says to use with caution, whatever that means. Too many drugs? Been in detox unit before for benzo addiction. Feel zonked out.
Well, it *sounds* like a lot of drugs. I am on four scripts, plus OTC meds to deal with side effects and that sounded like a lot a few years ago. A lot of the newer meds don't interact with each other as much (especially messing with each others metabolism possibly leading to toxic levels or inadequate levels of either one). You might ask your doc about "picking out" one med at a time to attempt to eliminate that might not be doing you that much good-or an increase in another one would take care of the absence of the med(s). I wish I could get back to taking just one or two meds. It would be great to take one capsule at bedtime and that's it! Don't think that is going to happen any time soon.
