In reply to Lamictal+swollen lymph nodes advice pretty please, posted by dreamer on December 28, 2001, at 15:21:39
dreamer, dear, I don't know if I'm qualified to answer but if you've had these swollen glands for 3 days, have they increased in size at all over this time period? If they have, I'd get ahold of the doctor & tell him - don't minimize it either.
Swollen lymph nodes can result form different anti-convulsants. But then on the dark side, swollen lymph nodes can be a symptom of Stevens-Johnson syndrome too, a serious allergic response to certain drugs.
Better to over-react & feel a little silly than not to react & have it perhaps be serious.
> Help .....is this serious ? not good news for a hypocondriac.
> Been on 100mg lamictal for bout 2 weeks(high starting dose I know , my pdoc will get verbal slap) noticed the lymphs bout 3 days ago 2 at back of neck and one new under ear all bout size of brazil nut.
> No flu fever rash or any other side effects well not yet....(such optimism).
> Do I
> A...wait to see if they grow the size of a tennis ball B...rush to doc screaming LYMPHS LYMPHS!!
> or C...
> wait to see if the little devils get smaller.
