This is the reason my pdoc was always trying to get me off my klonopin. She said it causes peripheral depression. If I take it every day, I do get more depressed. I have to take it only when I need it or I'm a total suicidal lunatic.
> There sounds like a lot of different factors here; there are known cases of people becoming depressed on klonopin, although I've been on it for 4 yrs w/o a problem. You say you are already are in a depressed episode, has your thyroid been tested? I had lots of trouble with lithium. It's normal for you to feel sedated for a few days after a klonopin dose increase, but that usually goes away. So if you have a really good pdoc, he/she should be able to rule out 1 med or condition at a time. I hope you feel bettter soon- judy
