Hi Tensor,
Thanks for your words of encouragment, made me feel better ! I think I'll go back to the doc and ask for a higher dose and if that doesn't work see if something else can. I spoke to this woman today and she gave me the name and number of a good doctor she knows, so i think i'll give her a try !
Take Care

Hi janejj,
>
> I definitely think it would be worth trying a higher dose. When I got depressed for the first time, I was 20, my pdoc put me on Prozac and the final dose I reached was 40mg after a month. I had exactly the same thought as you have now, but you will see that when your depression lifts you will get another perspective of life and things than you have now.
> It's not really a big thing to take antidepressants. I never responded to Prozac, it was Remeron that finally helped me. There's is a huge amount of different AD's and sooner or later you/your doc will find someone that helps you, in case you don't respond to Prozac.
> If you have problems with uncaring doctors, try to find another one. I think it's very helpful to do your own research, about your illness and different meds and how they work etc. Then you can present your own ideas about your medications and doses to your doc.
