I may be mistaken, but I believe desoxyn is still an option in the states. I think I've seen it in the Tips section here PB, & possibly at dr. ivan's depression central too.
However, doc's are even more hesitant/resistant to prescribe desoxyn, than they are to prescribe the other stimulants - if you can imagine that.
I think it's the image that desoxyn (i.e.: methamphetamine, I believe) has as an evil/dangerous street drug.

I don't think they're used alone in the treatment of depression because of their abuse potential and side-effect profile. Mention Ritalin augmentation to your doctor during your next visit. He or she probably won't write a prescription for an amphetamine like Dexedrine or Adderall. Good luck, and hope you feel better soon.
