I completely agree with what Mitch said. T3 is sometimes used as an augmenter for antidepressants, even with some people who are not diagnosed have having thyriod disease. Celexa does help with OCD. As for your manic depression question, I think that you just have to give the Celexa a fair trial and then see how you feel. There's a good chance it will help you. But if it doesn't there are other good medications to try.
> i was just wondering how effective celexa might be for ocd and if it may help with manic/depressive disorder...i am also hypothroid and perimenopause and i have nooooo cluuuue as to what is causing what...
> but lately i have been depressed then okay again then on top of the world..
> the "on top of the world" comes when i increased my thyroid meds but disappeared a few days later and i felt fine...but then slunk into a depression...may be from lack of sleep as wel..
> i sleep like a log but dream too much i guess and wake up feeling not so rested anyway...
> my dr. put me on celexa to try for the ocd...the ocd i have is mainly with thinking problems...like obsessive thoughts..i don't have any rituals..
> i have no history in my family of any of these things except a neice who was diagnosed bi/polar after a series of deaths in our family, one involving her mom, my mom and an aunt that all died of cancer back in 1992 all within six months of each other...two were expected one was not..
> sorry for so much detail...just needed to get it out too i guess..
> thanks for any help or advice you can give me...
> i also posted about the t3 helping with depression, but it seem no one really knows about that as it is thyroid related anyway...thank you again...
