Help!! Fibromyalgia and Remeron

Posted by cole on August 5, 2001, at 1:34:31

I could use some help.
On Wednesday I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, and have been suffering from concentration problems and joint and muscular pain. I find it interesting that my symptoms seemed to appear in concert with starting Remeron over a year ago, and have worsened over time. I am currently taking 90mg of Remeron/ night, 20 mg Ritalin SR PRN (to study), and ~25 mg Trazodone to sleep after taking the Ritalin.
I've found that I have an immune response for the first few days after I increase the dosage of Remeron: sore throat, canker sores, and achiness. I've had CBC's and nothing showed up abnormal (I'm aware that the Remeron can cause blood problems).
I've read that fibro is related to nonrestorative sleep, but I sleep quite heavily on the Remeron, in fact I have an extremely difficult time waking up in the morning, (this was a problem even at lower doses-- 45- 75mg). I am aware that my dosage is fairly high, but it has become ineffective at lower doses.
The joint and muscle pain is getting worse and worse, and it's scaring me to feel so creaky at 24. Any ideas/ links etc would be appreciated.

Thank you!
cole
