A strange DUI - Effect of Lamictal on blood level?

Posted by Salilyn on July 4, 2001, at 11:37:37

I take Lamictal and Ativan for bipolar disorder. Recently, I was charged with driving under the influence. My blood level was 0.16 (legal limit is 0.07). Unless the evidence lab loses the blood vial < g > I've lost. I left the restaurant at 8:30 p.m., and had no more drinks than usual. What I'd like to know is whether somehow Lamictal, because of its effect on liver enzymes, could cause an increase in blood alcohol levels?

Thanks,

Salilyn
