I've had had the same problems both on TCA and SSRI (Prozac and Zoloft).
I'm not sure but think that the swollen face depends on the liver: i noticed the same problem with my mother who is a heavy drinker; may be AD hit the liver also.
Im' currently taking amytriptyline (a TCA) and i gained 10 pounds so far; Usually i don't care about weight gain but i don't like the swelling of the face also. I think i'm going to put myself on a diet 'cause i suffer hot weather terribly if i'm overweight.....Well, that's all.
