when is your dose too high on wellbutrin?

Hi,

Two days ago I changed my dosing on wellbutrin i.r. from 75mg 4x/day (300mg) to 100mg 3x/day. My "experiment" is to see if I can push back the time between doses basically for convenience. Then, I can up to 400mg if necessary.

Here's the deal: after day one I woke up with this weird depression that was uncommon for me. My only conclusion is that, since I have eliminated the fourth dosing my system was "low" when I woke up. I'm also tired now and have significantly napped both afternoons.

Question: Do you think upping to 100mg tabs has caused the drowsiness and that decreasing to 3 tabs/day will not cover me completely in a 24 hour period? Would upping to 400mg be necessary, which would mean a return to the 4 doses/day cycle? How do I know when I've "reached the therapeutic dose?"

Point of info: I can't take SR because it makes me hypothermic and, in my body, it acts like IR anyway. Also, I find that I cannot go more than 5 hours without taking a dose (irritability first sign.) of either SR or IR. This leaves me vulnerable overnight.

Thanks for all wise insights.

Terra
