Apomorphine (Uprima) has been around for a very long time. It has generally been used for animal experiments, and is in some ways similar to bromocriptine (Parlodel) and pramapexole (Mirapex). It is a dopamine receptor agonist. However, unlike the others, it is not selective. If it acts in humans as it acts in animal experiments, apomorphine might be liable to produce sedation at low dosages, and perhaps at any dosage for some people. This would be analogous to the few reports found on Psycho-Babble of people feeling sedated and sleeply while taking Mirapex.
