Potentially, Remeron might have the least side effects among 'cyclic medicines. With Remeron, you probably won't have the anticholinergic crap (dry mouth, urinary retention).
There is a scientific study that compared Remeron to amitriptyline in 6 weeks. The study claimed to have seen success with Remeron during the first two weeks, which is understandable due to Remeron's alleviation of anxiety. I'll have to get that one for you.
