Good idea, go down 5 mgs per 2 to 4 weeks; I came off Paxil twice and did it very slowly otherwise it's rough. It did not work well the 2nd time I tried it [about 2 months later].

I am trying 15 mg now and am planning on going back to 20 mg. tomorrow and then calling my dr. first thing in the morning to get the liquid. I feel like crap having to go backwards but the zaps and dizziness are too much. Someone please give me something to look forward to. I would love to read the comments about getting off of paxil (that did have the withdrawl symtoms)that ended up good. I've been going through this for about 10 days and I just need some hope. LRC

I decided to taper off 10mg per month - so I got down to 10mg per day without feeling any side effects - but then the panic attacks started again. I eventually went back up to the 40mg but the medication was no longer working for me then. If you taper off slow enough you should avoid the side effects - I've been told you should taper at only 5mg per month on Paxil.
