Hello all, I thought I'd update those interested in Effexor XR weaning. I was doing an every other day, every 3rd day ect. weaning off of 37.5 mg cap's. Due to headaches, high blood pressure, liver issues (this med interupts a couple of phases of processes) and other ill feelings, starting the end of 1st off day, continuing all the 2nd off day (I'd already completed every other day tapering) I've changed the course.
I have started taking 18mg every day by opening the capsule, emptying it, reinserting half and taking that. I came to understand that dose levels were bouncing up and down too much with the alternating days method, and I was feeling the effect. After 2 weeks at 18mg, I'll cut to 9mg for 2 weeks, then end.
This may seem an absurdly low dose, but anyone who has gone through withdrawal of this drug, brain shivers, body shakes, monster headaches, vertigo ect.. (see my previous posts, and other's), know getting off this drug is tough.
This is day 3 of 18mg, and I've a slight headache, that's it. So far, pretty good. Although anxiety is rising, yoga helps to reduce it, which I do midday.
I'll do a follow post up in a week or so. Any issues or questions? ask away....
