I had a similar experience but it wasn't from withdrawal. I can't recall what dose I was at, but I was laughing. It passed and now I'm probably just my normal happy self. I'm still on the effexor though.

I do think you have to taper down even if you were just on 75mg. If you start feeling any of the withdrawal problems get some 37.5mg samples from the doctor and follow other posts advice on cutting back.
