John/Roo:
Most people don't use it because a) their doctors aren't familiar with it b) above 15 mg it has all the dietary restrictions and hypertensive crises dangers that traditional MAOs have and c) most people do not get an anti-depressant effect until they hit about 40 mg. What my pdoc is doing is using Neurontin for anti-depressant effects as well as mood stabilizing. I'm at 900 mg and by god it seems to be working. Houstin, we have ignition! But you know how that goes all happy and hopeful on day 1 of new dose. Anyway, I really want the Selegiline to work because of the neuroprotective qualities that it has. You know depression is related to reduced brain mass. I have also thought of adding Mirapex to the mix for its effects on anhedonia.
