Alcohol + Medication = Disaster

Posted by Larry on September 24, 2000, at 18:09:57

I believe I am alone in this area but I firmly believe that taking any of these medications and thinking one can still consume alcohol is an invitation to disaster. I do not have to be medically trained or a mental giant for that matter to realize the combination is a no-no. It's cut 'n dry as far as I am concerned. Many people, not all, who are depressed or experience chronic anxiety drink in the first place because it's a way to temporarily smear or postpone dealing with whatever is eating away at them. Alcohol seems to be a fixer for a while but in the end it will make us feel horrible and bite us in the rear. Also, there is not a person alive, doctor or otherwise, who knows of all the chemical reactions which can take place when the combination of the two is mixed. No, if one expects to see the results of their medication, alcohol needs to be eliminated from the oral diet.
