> I have been on medication for about 8 years now. I have tried all the SSRI's - Effexor, Serzone, Zoloft, Paxil,Wellbutrin and they all gave me insomnia, nervousness, agitation, aggressive. I have also been on Desyrel, Imipramine and Doxepin and Elavil.

Does this tricyclic help with sleep the same as elavil or is it more towards the energizing side of the TCAs? I realize that the meds affect everyone differently. I took 25 mg. trimipramine and 60 mg. elavil last night. I felt a bit funny but this could also be psychosymatic (sp??). If this drug is more energizing than elavil, maybe taking it earlier in the day would help?

Good luck, Shelby.I am becoming interested in trimipramine myself. What were your doctor's reasons for choosing this drug? I kind of like the fact that it made you feel a bit weird. It may indicate that it is doing something different than the other two tricyclics. I would take this to be a good sign.
I'll be praying for you.
