Hi-
My name is Jennifer. I am 26 and have fibromyalgia and anxiety disorder and have been on Paxil for the past 6 years. When I am on the Paxil, the anxiety is basically non-existent, only I still seem to have flare-ups with the fibro. (only in my chest where it originated). I want to get off of Paxil and my main reason is that I cannot orgasm while taking it, or very rarely. My doctor mentioned me switching to effexor and made it seem like it would be no big deal. Well, it is a HUGE deal to me. I am seriously worried about weight gain and any other side-effects. I have been in WW for the past 9 ms. and have lost 20lbs. and I'm NOT about to put it back on. I feel mentally wonderful on the Paxil and do not want to risk that changing for the worse. I tried to go off the Paxil about 2 ms. ago and sunk into horrible depression which left as soon as I started the Paxil again. If anyone has ANY information for me on whether or not effexor has helped them with fibro. pain, please let me know. Anyway, sometimes I think not orgasming wouldn't be as bad as going through all this....then I think, naaa...:)and my boyfriend would agree:) Any info. would be SO appreciated!!
P.S. One more thing...does it help you sleep. I never sleep, and if I do, I too have dreams that could be turned into Stephen King novels!!!
Thanks, Jennifer
