Hopefully if it targets the same as Elavil,
I would like to try it. If not, I'll try
something else that goes along the same lines
as the Elavil; which could be doxepin, trimipramine or nortriptyline
(ideas??).

James here....

Doxpin is the most sedating of all the TCA's, so you might
try the other substutions trimipramine or nortriptyline. I also
used Sumontril for a while and liked it. The other options that come to mind
in keeping with effecting nor-e and 5ht are: Remeron or Effexor. Remeron is related
to the tricyclics, Effexor is a novel compound. I would
think Remeron would be a good choice, as you like TCA's.
It has all the good traits of a TCA (robust AD effect, sedation) w/o the anticologernic and
most of the antihistaminic (side)effects.
