Nestor - Many antidepressants need to be washed out of the body before adding a new one. The manufacturer of Manerix recommends that you stop a serotonergic antidepressant (like Serzone) and wait at least 4 to 5 half-lifes of this antidepressant before starting the Manerix. It is not recommended that Serzone and Manerix be taken together unless you are being closely monitored by your doc (the combination has been used, but you run the risk of serotonin syndrome).

So, really you should wait a few days (5 to 7 days) after stopping the Serzone before starting the Manerix to avoid any problems caused by excess serotonin action. Be sure to ask your doctor if this is what he/she wants you to do.

Hope this helps - Cam
