In reply to MAOIs and Amisulpride: Thank You Michael!, posted by AndrewB on June 11, 2000, at 8:14:41
Hey Andrew -
Glad I could help - it was actually kind of fun - but not so much fun that I'm looking forward to the next time (or course if there is a next time, by all means let me know).
I just wanted to point out that the way I read it is slightly different than what was written below... the gist of it is that it can/may potentiate either hypotensive or antihypertensive meds - or of course, neither:
"Amisulpride can potentiate the action of hypotensives, antihypertensives and CNS depressants (hypnotics, tranquilisers/sedatives, anesthetics, analgesics)."
I don't mean to be difficult, but I want to make sure we get it right, especially if I'm putting this toward wings...
(btw - if I never make it up there, I hope all of you will feel free to take turns taking the wings out for a spin - or a soar?) michael
> Amisulpride apparently has a mild hypertensive effect and it will exaggerate the hypotensive effect of drugs that cause hypotension, for example, Nardil.
