Hi Lis - I've been taking Celexa for 2 weeks now. I think it's an excellent idea to start at a low dose then work up. I started at 20 mg taken in the mornings. I felt pretty zombie-ish the first day but the first 3 days my anxiety vanished. Side effects were nausea, tiredness & dizziness/spaciness. Then I got very sick (which in hindsight I think was the flu) so skipped a day then started taking 10 mg at bedtime. Did that for a few days (no side effects). Then took 15 mg for a few days. Bedtime works for me. It means that when I'm groggy I'm asleep anyway. The only side-effect now seems to be thirstiness during the night sometimes but I'm sleeping soundly. For the last few nights I've been taking 20 mg. No side effects, diminishing anxiety (which is my main problem). I've never taken anti-depressants before and my "depression" is probably "situational". For the past several years I've had major stresses of one form or another, with a few little "islands" of peace in between.
I'm going to be sharing my Celexa experience with a person here named "Brian", so if you see posts from me to "Brian", you might want to read them & post any of your experience/questions, etc. there.
