Gloria - I had good results with Paxil. When I was initially diagnosed with depression, I didn't want to accept it and crawled back into my cave for another several weeks of suffering. When I hit an all-time low, I returned to my doc begging for something, anything to help. He gave me Paxil 20 mgs. It took a good four weeks (during which time I had no noticeable side effects)until I suddenly felt the fog lift and for the first time in a long time I felt "normal". It was wonderful! The world seemed bright rather than menacing - I experienced what I'd describe as mental "clarity". I stayed on Paxil for 5 months and had no weight gain (I do have a tendency to gain weight easily). Rather, I lost some weight perhaps because I finally felt like getting out of bed and doing things. I had no problems with libido, but was unable to achieve orgasm - which was frustrating. All in all I had very good luck with Paxil.

Best of luck to you! Lyn
