> Tell me about Klonopin. How is this the same or different than Neurontin? Is Klonopin a benzo or antiseisure med? What are side effects and does it help with falling asleep at night? Will it make you drowsy during the day and is there weight gain? I have panic attacks and depression how does it work on these? Thanks Gloria
Gloria- Sorry I missed this thread earlier. I know
nothing about neurontin but have taken Klonopin
for years. As others have said, it is a benzo and an antiseizure
med.A side effect is drowsiness, this effect will lessen the longer
the med is used.Yes, it will help you sleep. I normally take 2mg
at bedtime. If I'm feeling agitated, I take 3mg.
Initially, you may feel 'hung-over' in the morning.I have not experienced weight gain that can be
attributed to the Klonopin. It is very effective for controlling panic attacks.
My own very subjective experience is that it has no
effect either way on my depression, except to help
calm me and to help establish some semblance of a
regular sleep pattern. As someone else said, it will help in stressful
social/workplace situations. It is addictive. Do not stop it cold-turkey. Check
with your doc and wean very slowly.Good luck
