In reply to DE-TOX FROM NARDIL, posted by Robert on October 17, 1998, at 14:18:45
> Original question certainly answered by now...but for others reading: I took Nardil for 8 years 90mg/day. Decreased by one 15mg tab every 4 days. Did great afterwards. I was originally using it for mild depression but especially for panic attacks. I think I broke the "cycle" of attacks and so no side effects noted. 2 yrs later given birth control pills for bleeding. Within 7 days I was out of control & had to restart Nardil. MD said once hormones out of my system I would be fine, but that was 1.5 years ago and I'm still on it. Also, CAUTION, there is a 10% chance that Nardil will not work as well for you the second time you use it. No one is sure why this happens to some people. It's so normal to feel good and think you don't need it. If you feel ANY symptoms while coming off the med, it's because you NEED it biochemically (not an addiction). Don't continue discontinuing unless your MD tells you to and you are changing to another med. Jen RN
