And when how long it takes for wellbutrin to work for depression and anxiety? I have only been taking wellbutrin for five days, I took zoloft for six months.Bill - I have taken Wellbutrin SR on two separate occations for major depressive disorder. I found that by taking 150mg in the morning for a week before increasing to 150mg twice daily minimized the side effects. It is probably impractical for you to do that now. The side effects you are experiencing usually abate within 2 weeks. Even with the titration you still feel the jitteriness.
Also I have found that I cannot take my nighttime dose after 5:00pm or I will have trouble sleeping, but remember, with Wellbutrin SR you must take your doses at least 8 hours apart to minimize the risk of seizures (which is only 0.1% at 300mg/day). Hang in there and good luck. - Cam W.
