"New" Feature

I need some tech help! I just bought this new and improved computer with Internet Explorer 5.0. For some reason, I'm don't see the "New" yellow indicators for new posts that I haven't read, although my old computer showed them. Any clues as to what I can do to fix that? This is a new computer, so I don't understand why I can't see them. Feel free to answer me here or email me.
