Entering data from my little daily pages into my data entry form in my Mood Chart database! So far, at least, it works -- although it is by no means so elegant as I would have wished. The only way I could get it to work was to combine two tables into one, which does mean that there are a few empty spaces in one field. {sigh} There are only a few, though, because the two tables were usually filled in at the same time, so they're mostly aligned and since it's working this way and wasn't working before, I'm gonna run with it anyway.
Once I've done all the data entry, I'm going to save the dang thing as a copy and make the reports there. I'm *NOT* going to risk all this data entry and screwing around with tables and forms getting tanked by problems with queries and reports, you know? Finally got smart -- after getting several earlier versions working and then screwing them up by trying to be clever, you know?
Since getting to this point is a big deal to me, I thought I'd share my limited success so far with you.
And did I tell you what my husband said the other day? "You know, Acess may not be the best choice for this -- why don't we buy a copy of Visual Basic and you can use that, instead? It would give you an opportunity to learn VB, too..." Um, thanks HoneyCakes, that sounds like a great idea...
(NOT)
Anyway, not as good as your new job, and certainly not on a par with what you do, but then again, since I haven't been able to fill in my "Activities" section with much more than "cleaned cat boxes" for the past month, certainly an improvement for me. Pat my head and give me a lollipop!
