I dunno if it means anything to you, Shar, but

I need you right now. I need everyone here, but you've always helped me so much, even when your own pain must have been overwhelming to you, and I need you to be here with me. You make a difference in the quality of my life.

If that doesn't mean enough, think about my cat. He needs you to help me take care of him. He's a big monster of a cat, nearly 20 pounds even sick, and he has a watery eye from a herpes infection that breaks out when he's stressed. He's a good looking fellow, and very smart. When we lived alone, he would get into bed with me and purr me to sleep at night. Cuddle right down under the covers to purr to me until I fell asleep. If I woke up in the night, he'd come back and curl up and start purring again, usually after a big sigh as if he were just doing his job and why didn't I make it easier for him by staying asleep? He's afraid of wind storms, and used to wake me up when one happened. I'd have to take him and a pillow down to the sofa, and hold him while he shook. Eventually, I'd be able to manouver around so that I could get my head on the pillow to doze without letting him go. He loves Ruffles BBQ potato chips, and will run from anywhere in the house if he hears a chip bag opening. We used to eat ice cream bars together, much to my ex-boyfriend's dismay. That's a little bit about the cat who needs you, about what makes him special.

Besides, I know a little secret about you, Shar, that I doubt even you are fully cognizant of: you're not the problem, you're just living with some impossible stressors in your life. You, yourself, are a wonderful person with great skills and even better qualities. It may seem as though having all those good points, life should be easier, but it doesn't work that way. But that's a fault in our world, not a fault in you. If you have any faults, it's more like the veins in a marble sculpture. The lack of absolute perfection in every element often adds to the beauty of the work as a whole. And you'll have to argue pretty strenuously to convince me that you have any faults, my dear. You've never shown them to me.

Maybe this doesn't help at all, but you are valued by others. Maybe it's selfish of me to want you to be aware of it, but I do want you to know how much you mean to me. I hope it helps, and wish there were more I could do.

My heart is with you, dear one.
