I have mixed feelings about a chat room. The chat rooms I have been in in the past(it has been a couple of years) felt a bit overstimulating. So much talking at once, very hard to keep up, it felt like shouting accross a crowded room while a zillion conversations were all going on at the same time.
And, I love the format of this board because it lends itself to complete sentences and more thoughtful expression. One can ramble on and not worry about monopolizing, because you know people have the option to read, skim, or skip.OTOH, I have started coming here so frequently, desparately craving those little yellow tags, only to be disappointed because I am checking in too frequently. Sometimes I feel lonely and want to see other people here. Occassionally, if I hit the refresh button and see a new message posted while I am on the board, I feel really connected, and just wish I could connect more directly.
BTW, I have been thinking about the volume of traffic on this board. I have been hoping it won't grow TOO big, because it would lose some of its intimacy.
