I haven't tried it, but I brought it to the attention of my father's neurologist who is treating him for Parkinson's.
I read an article (Medscape.com) (Amer Psychiatric Assn Annual Meeting, 5/17/99, Charles Bowden MD) which claimed that Mirapex was added to a variety of AD's, at a dose of .25 mg twice a day, and increased as clinically indicated to a total of .5 and 2.0 mg/day. This resulted in a 40% reduction in depressive symptoms by the end of a four week period. Nausea was experienced by 63% of the patients.
My father is also depressed and I thought that Mirapex could kill two birds with one stone. His doctors have not made any changes in his treatment, but if it were me, I would try it.
