Hello everyone,
I would just like to let you know that there is a
very good web site devoted to mental health and
particularly to most of the psychiatric medications
that are currently in use. This can be found at:
www.mentalhealth.com. Pick up "Medications" which
takes you to www.mentalhealth.com/fr30.html.If you are interested to learn more about the med
that you are currently taking or possibly will be
taking in the future, you have an excellent opportunity.
All the medications are listed under their brand
names (e.g. Prozac) as well as under their generic
names (fluoxetine). I understand that sometimes
it is better to know less as more knowledge may influence
you unconsciously (for example, when you learn more
about adverse side-effects of a particular drug without
experiencing them so far, you may develop them in the
future as a result of your broader knowledge...). But
anyway, you have an opportunity and it's up to you to
decide. (Among other things you may learn for example:
"Dependence Liability:
Fluoxetine has not been systematically studied, in animals or humans, for its potential for abuse,
tolerance, or physical dependence.")Best wishes,
David
