I've had migraine headaches since I was 14 (now 33) and have tried every kind of medication and alternative treatment available and nothing seems to work well. The new drugs, Imitrex and Zomig, make my headaches worse, so I cannot take those. My doctor has currently put me on Effexsor, an anti-depressant and serotonin elevator, which has shown some promise in helping or reducing the severity of a migraine headache. Not to mention the fact that since taking the Effexsor (7 months), I've gained 15 pounds without chaning my diet. I would like to try 5HTP for both weight loss and migraine control. Do you think it will be a good alternative for me?
