A Plea - Household cats

Posted by susan47 on August 12, 2009, at 14:12:43

Household cats are responsible for the disappearance of millions of birds from the environment.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep your household cat in the household. Please. If you care about the planet at all, if you see the future as we're going now, become Enlightened, and please please please don't breed cats irresponsibly and sell them to people who don't care, who will let their cat be wild. Possibly the only people with a legitimate reason for a cat allowed outside (to hunt: that is what they do, don't Anyone even try a comeback to that one, and if you write to defend the keeping of outdoor cats, you write in ignorance about the state of Nature this day, that would be Today) would be a barn cat ... but there are exterminators for rats and we don't seem to give a crap about keeping THAT population under control by investing $$ in it ... and the rate at which viruses and mutate now, and bacteria ... any little bit that YOU can do would, if EVERYONE gave a damn, would become a Big Deal. A Big Thing for mother earth.

Viruses and Bacteria mutate now

That was a gobbledygook (NOT referring to the poster) sentence. "The Fourth Horseman" by Andrew Nikiforuk ... one book among many but very relevant.
