Hello everyone,
Here's the deal: I am having a terrible time trying to quit Neurontin. I've been trying to quit this drug since January, but my only achievement was to reduce the amount I am taking from 600mg to 450mg. Every time I try to reduce the dose further, my Social Phobia gets out of control and I start to avoid people at work. Not to mention that my obsessive thinking gets worse.
I would like to know from other people about their experiences.Thanx,
Leo

I have never taken neurontin as an FYI.
But how fast are you tapering as a too fast taper could be the reason for your problems? You might need to taper as slowly as 5% of the current dose every 3 to 6 weeks. But definitely don't taper faster than 10%.
Hope this helps.

I know I'll have to take it slow, but I didn't think it would have to be sooo slooow. I have tapered other medication like Depakote and Remeron, but none of them was as difficult as Neurontin.

Jeez, everyone is so different. I have gone on and off neurontin with no difficulty except that I notice an increase in my anxiety when I go off it. Why are you trying to discontinue it? It sound like it has real benefit for you.
