Effexor Detox

Posted by dep on April 10, 2008, at 23:43:53

have completed the process of coming off of effexor. I was on Effexor for 3 years and decided that I no longer required it. Coming off of it very slowly, 6 weeks, was the best way to go. I did suffer with the dizzyness especially when I was tired.
Along with these withdrawl symptoms I experienced sore achy muscles and a general lack of energy. Now that I am completely off of the meds I still suffer with sore muscles and lack of energy.
Has anyone else expreienced the same or maybe there is something unrelated wrong. Also, I have not had my cycle since beginning my detox.

Hi there

Good to see that you took your time coming off the Effexor. I did it rapidly not understanding what I was doing and it was really awful. My cycle took a little while to get back to normal and when it did I noticed that it was heavier than usual. This eventually cleared up. I also had sore muscles and felt tired for some time after my detox which was a little frustrating. There were other symptoms that hung on for quite some time like vertigo. I found that taking a good quality fish oil and borage seed oil set me back on track. You can read about these wonderful oils on the alternative page of this site. I also paid close attention to my diet and drank lots of water to flush my system out. You will eventually feel like yourself again it just takes time for the brain to recover.
