I have been on dexedrine (dexamphetamine) ten years now from daily doses 50 mg to 180mg for three years.I have been in rehab five times,been to hell and back,but i cant quit amphetamine.I swear i would rarther loose an arm/leg sight than live without amphet.I dont know how people live amphet free. I take it from the first half hour of waking,until an hour before i go to bed,refill body every 2 and half,three hours.Im on amisulpride to try and keep me saine 400mg,effexor 225mg,god i hate that poison,50mg valium for anxiety/sleep a day,codine phosphate 120mg,xenical 360mg to loose weight im not fat now,ventolin,antihystermines,and betnovate lotion,as im on that many chemicals,i get rashes,and allergy to water.Now my doctor who is at the community drugs team,has asked me to completly come off amphetamine and swap it for dexedrine,i told him it would have to be a high dose.He said that was ok.So he has asked me to go into hospital for a month,cutting street speed out and starting on a dose off 200mg ie 50 pills a day,rising up to a max off 400mg a day thats thats about 70/80 tabs a day.I know no matter what dose im on tolorance will go up,then ill be stuck on 80 dexedrine,just to feel normal.Has anybody else heard off any1 on this kinda dose,in b and f max dose is 60mg....lol Im confused,sometimes dr,s make you ten times worse....steve

I understand your pain...totally understand the horror to the thought of not having amphetimines after being prescreibed them for so long... I wish i could help. i just got my script of adderall switched to concerta , not happy AT ALL!!!! i wish you could just go to the local pharmacy and but it like asprin. i will never understand the motives behind all these doctors, i am convinced its all about the tie they have with the pharmacutical companies and money...I get prescribed new stuff everytime i see my doc, I have been on a crazy amount of drugs and the list continues to grow!!

Your dr sounds like he's really willing to give you all the tools that modern pharm can offer to help get you off of street meth.
you sound like you are in a really tough situation, and you are hurting, and unsure. If you stay on meth, it will be hard to make sure that you are always putting the same dose into your body, and how pure it is. There are a lot of bad side effects from meth, including criminal prosecution. I think you'd do better spending some time in a hospital and getting this under control than being locked up, and having to do detox under the circumstances of not being able to make bail at the county jail for 24 hours.
I think your doc sounds like he really wants to help. When you're ready for help, you know that you have a real option available to you. Yes, it's going to be unpleasant, and you may feel like you're not in control of your own body. You might feel sick, and you might feel like it's not worth it-- but YOU ARE worth it, and I think that's what your doctor is trying to express.
