Electro convulsant therapy

Have gone off of cymbalta as of 7/04/06. Am still having minor withdrawal symptoms, mostly dizziness and occassional brain zaps and headaches. The worst was the first 3 weeks. Haven't vomitted for 2 days (yippee!) My dx; major depression, anxiety disorder and agoraphobia. I, like many of you have been through the PDR of RX's, with no help or wprsening symptoms. Prozac did the trick for quite a while, "pooped out"-not uncommon, Iguess. I saw another pdoc as a consult, and he is suggesting I try ECT (shock therapy)-not crazy about it,and my regular pdoc seems to think that if I get into a long term inpatient facility, there is hope. Just wondered if anyone else has experience/insight into ECT, or could recommend a good long term psyche facility-also comes into play the battle with insurance companies, who I believe would rather see us all die, so they didn't have to keep paying for treatment, but then, that would make our friends at the pharm companies sad-forgive my cynisism-just feel at my wits end. Thanks, Hermansmom
