Effexor withdrawal question

Posted by Crazycook9000 on May 2, 2006, at 20:32:00

I am currently tapering off of effexor and experiencing the typical brain lag... I am hoping that will end soon. Other than that, I am surprised at how well everything is going... although it makes it hard to be a chef (standing all day at work and being dizzy :)

I have a question, though... have any of you females experienced your breasts growing? I know it is wierd, but i feel like my boobs are boinb to pop out of my skin.

I didn't go through that, not that I would have noticed, the w/drawal made me SO crazy.

I wonder if something like modafinil would ease the w/drawal symptoms? I can't say much, since I've got my first tablet ever of the stuff in my system right now, but I wish I'd had some kind of managed withdrawal plan and lots of help and other stuff to get me through it. It was years ago and I still think the stuff is the devil. For some reason, I haven't thrown the rest away though ...

I'm having symptoms which scared me into thinking I was pregnant... even though my last sexual activity was more than 3 months ago.

My breasts are large, swollen, and very tender and I missed my period last month.

I'm 27 and have NEVER had a preg scare before so it took me almost a week to relate it to the Effexor. It's very odd.

Getting off Effexor is awful---I'm at 75mg and have been on it for 7 wks. I tried once before to quit (after 4 wks), weaned down to 37.5, had terrible withdrawl symptoms (flu-like--nausea, tired, vertigo, weakness) and the deep depression with uncontrollable crying jags over the dumbest things.

And I thought I was so busty because of the 10 lbs I've gained while on Effexor! I'm not complaining about that tho!
