Trileptal

Posted by Jamie Rose on April 28, 2006, at 16:14:37

After being on 600 mg for 4 months the nasua and headches went away, but I got these creep side effects: foggy memory, disorentation, fuzzy brain feeling.....I was getting lost in familiar streets and buildings and losing my things all the time. Has anyone else experience this delayed side effect? Also, my doctor ended up having me skip a couple doses around finals time in school, and then start a lower dose. BAD IDEA. After 48 hours of no Trileptal, not only did I go hypomanic, which I can deal with, but my vision blurred and I started getting hot and cold flashes all over my body. Now I'm scared to get off this med. Is it always that bad?

I'm new here. Hello everyone. I had to come down on my Trileptal dose becuase of extreme fuzzy headedness. My Dr. Told me to skip a couple days and then start a lower dose. I've been on 600 for four months, then 450 for three months. After 48 hours of no Trileptal I was having fuzzy vision, almost felt like I was about to hallucinate, and hot and cold all over my body, for hours one night. I feel better having resumed my med, but at this lower dose I can't sleep very well. Now I feel lack of trust with my Dr., becuase I felt really bad that night- really scared. And I am also scared to go off the medicine now. I would love to know what your opinions are on this. Should I just tell my Dr. these concerns? Do you think she was being negligent with me telling me to skip doses like that?
