Using Trileptal for Xanax withdrawal

Posted by repop on March 25, 2006, at 10:15:57

I've been using .75 xanax for 20 years and wish to come off. I have a supply of Trileptal to help me, but do not know the protocol. Should I stop the xanax all at once and substitute a quantity of Trileptal, or do it slowly with maybe a smaller amount of Trileptal? Personally, I'd like to get it over with and not drag it out. .75 Xanax is a small amount, but hard to cut back on.
Thanks
Reed

This is only a guess, but I think it would be better to introduce the Trileptal first. I don't know what dosage would be best. Perhaps 600mg?
