Hey everyone
Sorry I haven't posted much lately, Ive been really preocupied
I know this belongs on the withdrawal board, but this board gets more traffic.
I've been on 60mgs of Marplan since November, but I've decided to withdraw in an attempt to loose weight....
I've withdrawn from quite a few drugs before, such as Effexor, Remeron e.c.t.
Nothing has been as bad as Marplan!
Have been weaning off, one 10mg tablet at a time.
I feel like hell everytime I drop a dose, irritability, Insomnia, Restlessness and Anxiety.Please is there anything that helps?
Wasn't expecting it to be this bad, especially
as Marplan hasn't been very helpful to me.I live in the UK so getting a sympathetic doctor is very hard

Hi Tom
I've no idea if this would help but do you think it might make sense to take precursers for the neurotransmitters that Marplan increases the concentrations of? Which I suppose is tryptophan/5htp?? But have you actually stopped Marplan? Because if you havn't you'd need to be careful.

I stopped Marplan cold turkey once and didn't have nearly the problems you are...and you're tapering! The only suggestion I have is either get a pill cutter and split them in half, dropping down a half pill at a time instead of a whole or asking your doctor for a benzo just to get you over the rough spots. I loved Marplan but I agree that the weight gain can be bad (although not as bad as Nardil.) Good luck!
